From the new foundation to the move: FC Neufahrn can look back on eventful 75 years.

From Thursday there will be a big party.

Neufahrn

– If that's not a reason to celebrate: FC Neufahrn is celebrating its 75th club anniversary – with an extended weekend of celebrations from June 30th to July 3rd.

There will be a whole lot on offer on the FCN grounds in musical, sporting and social terms for young and old.

A glimpse into the chronicle of a renowned football club that has an eventful history behind it.

The history of FC Neufahrn began 75 years ago – on April 28, 1947 to be precise.

Twelve founding members launched the club and elected the first board of directors.

The municipality's gravel pit on Dietersheimer Strasse was filled in and served as a temporary soccer field for the active members.

Shortly thereafter, the merger with TSV Neufahrn took place, which only lasted until 1951.

In a secret session and election, the football club was dissolved again.

Foundation and first championship

But that was by no means the end: 52 men and women were involved when the independent FC Neufahrn was founded on January 11, 1951 in the Maier inn.

And that was just the beginning: In 1955, the first men's team won the championship in the C class and advanced to the B class.

In 1956, those responsible decided to build a sports center and to renovate the football field.

That was the basis for a successful future, even if the club experienced ups and downs in the following years from a football point of view.

The FCN has long been an integral part of community life, organizing numerous events such as carnival balls, summer festivals, dance events, Christmas parties and New Year's balls.

Unforgotten: On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the founding in 1972, the legendary coach Sepp Herberger (middle) visited FC Neufahrn – much to the delight of club vice president Josef Hölzl (left) and club boss Rudolf Eschlwech.

On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the founding of the association in 1971, a festival committee was appointed, which made the preparations for the first anniversary of the association and set up a major event for the entire community with a week-long festival.

The 1972 festival was remembered by everyone - not least because former national coach Sepp Herberger paid a visit to the newcomers, donated 1,000 marks to the club and, on the occasion, also signed the community's golden book.

This festival week was so successful that FC Neufahrn then organized the folk festival until 1976.

Not to be forgotten: From 1971, women also played football at FC Neufahrn.

(By the way: everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.)

Good luck on the soccer field

Spurred on by this development, the club achieved further successes in the years that followed, both in the youth and men's divisions, such as promotion to the A class.

In 1985 the construction of the new sports center began, which was handed over to its intended purpose as early as 1986 as part of a three-day festival.

In 1986 the curling department was also founded, which in 1988 was able to look forward to a new asphalt curling facility.

The foundation for success was laid, from 1990 to 1994 the footballers under coach Josef Wiesheu went from the B class to the district league.

This was later even promoted to the district league, which is still considered the greatest success in the club's history.

New home and a lot of passion

However, the time around the turn of the millennium was also exciting for the club: After a municipal decision, the club had to move and finally found its new home at Galgenbachweiher 2.

In 2005, the move to what was then the most modern sports center in the district took place.

The site is now also the scene of the big 75-year celebration - and it is by no means spoiled by the relegation of the first football team from the district to the A class.

With a lot of passion, the festival committee has put together an attractive program for young and old - everyone who wants to celebrate is welcome.

It starts on Thursday with an Oberkrainer evening, on Friday the Freising cult band Dolce Vita will be performing.

On Saturday, the club presents itself with events in the fields of football, curling and table tennis,
