Make quota with 1860?

Even the public broadcasters are discovering the new lions.

ZDF shows the cup hit against Dortmund, ARD shows the start of the league in Dresden.

Just under four weeks until the start of the season - and it's now clear: Football in July will be under the zodiac sign of the lion, at least as far as the TV presence of TSV 1860 is concerned.

The enthusiasm for the new lions has spread to the broadcasting houses of the public broadcasters.

On the fringes of the test match against KSC (4-0), Michael Köllner revealed that not only the DFB Cup hit against Borussia Dortmund will find a big stage (July 29 on ZDF, 8.45 p.m.), but also the league start of the lions six days before.

The ARD apparently wants to show the traditional duel with the second division relegated Dynamo Dresden live in the first program.

The 1860 coach reported what he had learned first-hand at the Bavarian Football Association (BFV) convention.

"Jürgen Faltbacher, who is responsible for the schedule, is a good friend of mine.

We spoke to each other yesterday.

He comes from the same district as me, from Waldsassen.

I asked him: 'Jürgen, why don't we have the opening game on Friday?'

He explained to me that ARD has a live game - and that will probably be on Saturday.

It's great for the club's image.

On the other hand, of course, you have to deliver good results.

If we get slaughtered twice there, nobody will be happy.”

Twice in quick succession lions live for all households - from Köllner's point of view an honor, but also an obligation.

"It's great for the club's image," says the coach: "On the other hand, of course, you have to deliver good results.

If we are slaughtered twice there, nobody will be happy.” Except for the clubs in black and yellow.
