Is one of the best franchises in the league on the verge of losing his two assets?

Very good chance indeed.

The U.S. reports tonight (Sunday) that Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant are on their way out of the Brooklyn Nets.

As you may recall after the team failed again this season in its quest to win the NBA title, and was eliminated against the Boston Celtics in the playoffs, it seems the two players are on their way to leaving and trying to fulfill the championship dream with another team.

The free agent market in the league is set to open on the night between Thursday and Friday, and it looks like the two will be on the shelf.

The Nets are prepared to lose both Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant, per @WindhorstESPN.

Irving has a player option in his contract for next season for $ 36.5 million, and while he is interested in a long-term contract to stay in the Big Apple, the Nets are refusing to comply with his request and as long as both sides do not reach an equal valley, there is a high chance of parting next week.

The Los Angeles Lakers are already expressing interest in the center.

As for Durant, the veteran forward has yet to give up on the club, and he wants the Nets to extend Irving's contract, and in the meantime has not asked for a trade.

The forward has a four-season contract, but if the quarterback leaves - it could pave his way out - and that's what New York is all about at the moment.
