The soccer players in Fraunberg have enviable space conditions.

Fraunberg – The club has laid the groundwork for this over the past two years, and the footballers have done a lot of voluntary work to ensure that the costs remain manageable.

The association has now thanked them with a volunteer party.

Almost three years ago, those responsible at the club once again asked themselves how the FC pitches could be kept in good condition over the long term.

After the application was submitted to the BLSV, the municipality and the district in spring 2020, the FCF began to reactivate and upgrade the old well in July 2020.

The cessation of game operations due to the corona pandemic was not a disadvantage, because the earthworks with the laying of the (water) pipes on the main square could be completed on the first weekend in October 2020.

A total of 571 helper hours were incurred, all of which were volunteered by the members.

Then the cistern with a capacity of 52 cubic meters was buried.

in the spring of 2021, among other things, more pipes were laid, and in July the training ground was also irrigated, for which a further 654 voluntary working hours were incurred by the members in 2021.

According to the hourly rates of the BLSV, the FC members have saved the club more than 18,000 euros, which also includes around 2,000 euros for free machine work.

The total costs were around 100,000 euros, which could be reduced accordingly with the grants from the BLSV (40 percent), the municipality of Fraunberg (10) and the district (10).

For years, FC Fraunberg has organized a small festival for the many volunteers once a year.

He had to miss twice because of the pandemic.

Chairman Manfred Angermaier was all the more pleased that it now worked.

"In every club there are countless tasks and activities that have to be done," he said, listing some of them.

"With our volunteer party, we try to convey the association's appreciation of our volunteers." After Angermaier thanked the community, BLSV and district, Mayor Hans Wiesmaier and BLSV district chairman Martin Weber thanked the volunteers and emphasized once again how important these tasks are for association and community.

In an interesting presentation with lots of data and facts, Simon Selmeier reviewed the construction of the irrigation system.

When asked about the hardest-working helpers, there was “an exciting finale”.

Florian Lex landed in the first three places with 78:30, Johannes Lex with 74:45 and Bene Pöppel with 74:15 hours.
