De Jong move to United on the home stretch
According to a media report, Dutch national soccer player Frenkie de Jong is about to move from FC Barcelona to Manchester United.
As Sky Sports reported on Tuesday, the English Premier League club and the Catalans are said to be "largely in agreement" on the transfer fee of 65 million euros plus further bonus payments for the 25-year-old midfielder.
For Manchester and its new coach Erik ten Hag it would be the first top-class newcomer after the departure of French world champion Paul Pogba.
The Dutch coach worked with de Jong, who still has a contract with Barça until June 30, 2026, at Ajax Amsterdam from 2017 to 2019.
Ajax defender Martínez: Arsenal with an offer, United are also interested
United is now facing serious competition from north London for another former protégé, ten Hags: As the “Times” reports, Arsenal are to be offered a transfer fee of £34m (about €39.5m) for Argentinian defensive all-rounder Lisandro Martínez from Ajax Amsterdam to have.
United are said to have expressed an interest in the left foot, who is mainly used in central defense or defensive midfield, but other transfer targets would initially have priority.
Since signing ten Hags, the Red Devils have repeatedly been talking about current or former Ajax professionals.
For example, a move from Amsterdam winger Antoy to Manchester is also on the cards, as is a free transfer from ex-Ajax playmaker Christian Eriksen (most recently FC Brentford).
Werder has ex-Mainzer Boëtius on the list
After the failed transfer of desired player Daniel-Kofi Kyereh, Bundesliga club Werder Bremen is apparently considering signing Dutchman Jean-Paul Boëtius from Mainz 05.
This was reported by the "Bild" newspaper on Tuesday.
“Several Bundesliga clubs are interested in him.
One club is Werder Bremen.
They called and asked about him,” Boëtius' adviser Erkan Alkan is quoted as saying on Tuesday.
The 28-year-old Boëtius can be used in several midfield positions, just like Kyereh, who switched from FC St. Pauli to SC Freiburg.
After four years in Mainz, his contract was not renewed, so the Dutchman is free of charge.
Vagnoman change to Stuttgart on the brink
At VfB Stuttgart, patience is required when trying to find right-back Josha Vagnoman from Hamburger SV.
"We are extremely far apart," said VfB sports director Sven Mislintat on Monday evening at the start of training for negotiations with the second division team.
According to media reports, HSV is to demand up to eight million euros.
Money that the VfB squad planner is not willing to pay.
“Let's not beat around the fact that Vagnoman is an issue.
We can already see that we would like to fill the position again,” said Mislintat.
'But it's not realistic at the moment.
In the end it can also happen that you don't get together.«

HSV brings Königsdörffer from Dresden
Hamburger SV has signed a dream player Ransford Königsdörffer.
As the club announced on Tuesday, the 20-year-old will receive a four-year contract until June 30, 2026. The offensive player is moving to the Hanseatic city from Dynamo Dresden, who have been relegated to the second division.
Königsdörffer traveled directly to the HSV training camp in Styria, where coach Tim Walter is preparing the team for the new season.
The club did not provide any information about the amount of the fee.
Last season, Königsdörffer made 30 appearances in the second division and scored five goals for Dynamo Dresden.
He also prepared five more goals.
Nuremberg strengthens itself with Daferner
And Dynamo has to let another attacker go: Christoph Daferner is moving to 1. FC Nürnberg.
The 24-year-old is the third striker signed this summer after Manuel Wintzheimer (Hamburger SV) and Kwadwo Duah (St. Gallen).
Daferner scored 13 goals in 32 games for the relegated team from Dresden in the past second division season.
Hoffenheim has given Gacinovic to Athens
Mijat Gacinovic is leaving the Bundesliga soccer team TSG 1899 Hoffenheim with immediate effect and is joining AEK Athens.
The midfielder still had a contract with the Baden-Württembergers until 2024, as Hoffenheim announced on Tuesday.
At the start of training on Sunday, Gacinovic was already absent because he was free for talks.
In the second half of the previous season he was loaned to AEK city rivals Panathinaikos.
At his new club, the 27-year-old Serb meets Steven Zuber, with whom Gacinovic had swapped employers in the summer of 2020: At that time Zuber had switched from TSG to Eintracht Frankfurt, Gacinovic took the opposite way.
