Flicked faster than slid, the result is very funny - and a bit painful.

German Olympic hero Johannes Ludwig posted it.

Oberhof - If anyone can start the summer with fun, it's winter sportsman and Olympic hero Johannes Ludwig.

At the Olympic Games in Beijing he cleared twice.

Gold in the singles, gold in the team relay - for the now 36-year-old, whose birthday even coincided with the games, another dream that came true.

Shortly before that, he had already completed the overall luge world cup.

Ludwig and the other ice rink Olympians held up the German flag at the major event in China.

So it goes without saying that in summer there has to be a bit of fun.

And toboggan king Ludwig doesn't need to be told twice.

On Instagram he wanted to show his fans how he successfully slides into the lake.

But that went wrong.

What happened?

Olympic hero Ludwig: It doesn't work that way in the summer - a small accident on a wooden bridge

You can see Ludwig in his bathing suit pouring water onto the children's slide and sitting down at the "start", because then Ludwig simulates the movements that he usually only makes before the start of the toboggan run.

He sways from left to right, like the pros do on the ice rink, to go through the important curves again just before the start.

Then he visibly takes a deep breath, puts on his imaginary privacy screen - and off he goes.

In the end, his attempt was too swinging and the slide literally pulled him out from under his butt, so that Ludwig hit his tailbone just before the water, but he ended up in the lake anyway.

He himself writes: “Starting on the ice has always been my domain.

I guess I'll have to practice a little more on the water slide." See for yourself:

Olympia king Ludwig better in winter than on summer vacation

The winter sports fans can remember: At the Olympics, Ludwig had great start times, which were partly responsible for his sovereign victories.

In the comment column on Instagram, fans are rolling with laughter.

Colleagues have also added their two cents.

The USA's Chris Mazdzer, silver medalist 2018, wrote: "It was all prepared... happens to the best of us".

Cross-country gold winner Victoria Carl only said: "The child in you comes through".

The fans felt with Ludwig.

"The jute coccyx," writes one.

"Ouch Böbbes", another.

It doesn't seem to have been as bad as it looks, because Ludwig uploaded the whole video himself and had a good sense of humour: "No master has yet fallen from the sky".

He won't care about the start of winter either, because he ended his career after the season of his life.
