After considering becoming a free agent or switching to another team, Kyrie Irving relented, announcing tonight (Monday to Tuesday) that he would stay in Brooklyn.
The controversial quarterback exercised the option to continue with the team for another season for $ 36.5 million, a move that is also expected to keep Kevin Durant rocking in light of the situation with Irving.
"Normal people make the world move. Special people lead us to tomorrow," Irving said with the pomp that is typical of Athletic after the decision.
"I decided to exercise my option to stay. See you in the fall."
Despite Irving's bombastic statements, the United States is convinced he had no choice but to stay in Brooklyn given the low demand he had for other teams.
Of the many teams Irving mentioned in his list of possible goals, only the Lakers were in the picture, but the amount they could have paid him in accordance with the salary cap rules was "only" $ 6 million,
As you may recall, the 30-year-old coordinator missed extensive parts of last season due to his refusal to get vaccinated for Corona.
In the 29 games he played in the regular season, he averaged 27.4 points, 5.8 assists and 4.4 rebounds.

More big news in the NBA was recorded tonight from the direction of John Wall.
The 31-year-old quarterback has reached an agreement with Houston on his release from the team, and according to ESPN is expected to sign with the Clippers in the coming days.
Wall, who holds one of the league's highest contracts, gave up $ 6.5 million to be released by the Rockets (after not playing all of last season due to disagreements with the team), a little less than $ 40 million next season in LA.
In doing so, Wall is set to create a very impressive star trio in the ranks of the Clippers, alongside Paul George and alongside Kwai Leonard who returns this season after missing last season following a tear in the crossbar.
He will step into the shoes of Reggie Jackson, who recorded his peak season in his career but did not continue with the Clippers.
Wall recently played in the 2020/21 season, averaging 20.6 points and 6.9 rebounds in 40 games.
Many teams hoped they could sign him, including Washington in the media starred in the past, but he chose Tyrone Lou's intriguing team.
