The sports facility of TSV Schwabhausen presented itself in glorious weather on Saturday for the district finals of the girls in the 28th Merkur CUP.

Schwabhausen – The teams from the district of Erding said goodbye to the district of Dachau with different feelings.

While FC Lengdorf was eliminated without a point, FC Moosinning entered the grand final, which will be held in Unterhaching on July 16, as one of the four runners-up in the group.

After 2017, Schwabhausen hosted the district final for the second time.

16 girls' teams competed in the Dachau district on Saturday and proved that the young female footballers are in good shape.

The ten-year-old girls showed good football, technical tricks and fair play on the pitch.

A total of 91 goals were scored in 24 games.

The group winners SG Röhrmoos/Schwabhausen (Group A) and FFC Wacker Munich (Group D) each contributed twelve.

SG Penzberg, as the winner of Group C, still contributed nine goals, Schäftlarn, as the winner of Group B, scored eight goals.

The girls from FC Moosinning proved to be minimalists, with three goals giving them seven points and second place.

"After the initial nervousness, we were able to draw 0-0 against SV Pullach in the first game," says Moosinning's coach Nils Rosenkranz.

In the second game against the district rivals FC Lengdorf, the coach had identified “a significant increase”.

"This gave us a 2-0 win."

Unstoppable: The women from Lengdorf (red shirts) had to admit defeat in Schäftlarn by 4-0.

The Lengdorfer had started the district final with a 0:4 defeat against TSV Schäftlarn.

After the defeat against Moosinning it was clear that the dream of reaching the grand final had burst.

In the last game against SV Pullach, the women from Lengdorf counted on something.

After all, SV hadn't scored a goal in the first two games – just like Lengdorf.

But in this game almost everything went wrong for the FCL and they had to admit defeat 2:6, which meant the last place in the group.

Looking at the table, it was clear to Moosinning: "In the last game against TSV Schäftlarn, at least one draw was needed to keep the dream of the grand final alive." which we could keep the girls of TSV Schäftlarn in check and defeat 1:0".

However, it wasn't enough to win the group.

But he is more than satisfied, emphasizes Moosinning's trainer.

"The girls really deserved to take part in the final due to their great performance in the preliminary round and in the district final with a total of four wins and two draws with only two goals conceded," summarizes Rosenkranz.

"We're happy to be among the eight best girls' teams and we'll give our all in the final.

The four group winners qualified for the big Merkur CUP final in Unterhaching.

The teams from Post SV Munich, FC Moosinning, ESV Munich and SV Sentilo Blumenau will also travel to Unterhaching on July 16 as the runners-up in their group.
