Tim Declerq has withdrawn from the Tour de France but Julian Alaphilippe will not replace him.
Florian Sénéchal has been selected to complete the squad of 8 riders of Quick-Step Alpha Vynil.
The team announced the positive Covid-19 test of its Belgian rider before betting on the very recent champion of France.
On Sunday, the speedy 28-year-old runner won the French championships by settling a group of five sprint contenders.
On Monday June 26, Quick-Step revealed the list of athletes designated to participate in the Grand Boucle.
The absence of the name of Julian Alaphilippe made people talk, but the world champion is not yet sufficiently recovered from his heavy fall in Liège-Bastogne-Liège at the end of April.
We are sorry to announce that @Tim_Declercq has tested positive for Covid-19 and will not take part in this year's #TDF2022.
He will be replaced for the race by French Champion @flosenech.
We wish Tim a speedy recovery!

Arrived in the team of Patrick Lefevere in 2018, Sénéchal will play his third Tour de France, after 2015 and 2017, the first under the colors of the Wolfpack.
The former Cofidis driver has already won a stage in a grand tour.
It was last year, on the occasion of the 13th stage of the Tour of Spain.
On the roads of the French event, which begins in Denmark this Friday, July 1, the Frenchman will notably accompany the sprinter Fabio Jakobsen and a set of referenced riders.
