Soccer A-Classist SGT Istanbul Moosburg has committed eleven newcomers, some of them top-class.
Most come from a city rival.
Moosburg
– After a mediocre season with ninth place in the A-Class 6, the soccer players in SGT Istanbul Moosburg are in a spirit of optimism.
The squad planners went full throttle, there are now eleven newcomers to report - including some top-class players who have already played in significantly higher leagues.
One of them is 34-year-old Emrah Kirkulak.
Most recently, he played for city rivals TSV Moosburg in the district league, where he also acted as player-coach until October 2021.
At Istanbul he will concentrate on his footballing achievements - a job as a coach was out of the question for him.
"I just want to have fun on the field without any responsibility and help the team."
Membership has shot up by 50 percent
However, his commitment goes beyond that of a player: Kirkulak made himself available for a position on the board of directors and, together with Emir Duran, will in future be responsible for press work, marketing and the search for sponsors.
"Many of my friends are now on the board - and I just wanted to support them," he says.
The new team led by Chairman Hüseyin Almaoglu immediately showed their full zest for action.
The number of members has shot up by 50 percent and the euphoria is huge.
There is another well-known transfer with 30-year-old Dominik Gessler.
The defensive midfielder also came from TSV Moosburg, where he was captain and assistant coach.
SGT Istanbul brought in a top striker in 31-year-old Erkal Üsküplü, who scored 18 goals for TSV Moosburg in the district league.
Kirkulak: "For the A-class he is of course outstanding."
(By the way: everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.)
However, the wave of newcomers from Moosburg Neustadt did not end with the trio: Stefan Batinic (30, defence), Ömer Demirbas (34, defence), Isa Özdemir (27, defence) and Tobias Kohoutek (26, midfield) also made changes within the Dreirosenstadt.
In addition, there will be Nick Günaydin (29, midfield), Ahmet Kuyumcu (31, defence) and Recep Akpinar (30, defence) from Vatanspor Freising.
Deniz Dinc (23, midfield) is moving from FC Moosburg to SGT Istanbul.
Coach Yasin Barin should form a powerful team
In terms of squad, the Moosburgers are clearly among the favorites in the upcoming round of points in A-Class 6. But it will definitely not be a sure-fire success, says Kirkulak: "Of course, with so many new players, it's not that easy to form an intact team .” Coach Yasin Barin, with whom there has always been a lively exchange regarding the newcomers, is particularly challenged in the preparations that begin on July 4th.

Of course, there shouldn't be a ninth place again, the individual class of the footballing staff is too big for that.
Emrah Kirkulak: “Of course our goal is to get promoted.
However, it's a long way to go.” But the wave of euphoria has arrived – and after a few years of standstill, SGT Istanbul Moosburg should now be going full throttle again.
