Angelique Kerber is in the third round of Wimbledon.
The 2018 winner defeated Magda Linette from Poland 6:3, 6:3.
Unlike the first duel with the 30-year-old on the way to her only title of the season so far on clay in Strasbourg, Kerber (34) did not have to play in the third set this time.
After 85 minutes, the woman from Kiel converted her first match point and continued this year in Wimbledon without losing a set.
"It was important to enjoy my tennis and enjoy the atmosphere," said Kerber.
In her 14th Wimbledon participation, she is in the top 32 for the ninth time in the classic grass field and is also clearly favored against Belgian Elise Mertens or Panna Udvardy from Hungary.
