It was a great time, but that's over now: The SGEE girls had established themselves in the district league and were able to celebrate beautiful goals - like here in the game against FCA Unterbruck.

The game community Eichenfeld/Eittingermoos dissolves.

The staff shortages make further interaction not possible.

Eichenfeld/Eittingermoos

- Since 2018, the soccer players of SG Eichenfeld/Eittingermoos have been fighting together for points.

After this season it's over: The staff shortages make further interaction not possible - the team signs off.

Both the women of SG Eichenfeld Freising and the girls of FC Moos-Eittingermoos shaped women's football in the Freising district for years.

In 2009, a first women's team was announced in Eichenfeld, even then under today's coach Michael Hillebrand.

Many eventful years with promotions followed, and there was great solidarity in the troupe.

"The good atmosphere was what always made us different," remembers Coach Hillebrand.

Great successes at the VW Cup and the Erdinger Masters Cup

And the women from Eittingermoos were also well-known far beyond the district borders, having formed a women's football team for the first time more than 30 years ago.

A special highlight in the history of the team, which has been coached by trainer Heinrich Ermair since 2005, was winning the VW Cup at VfL Wolfsburg in 2009. The prize at that time was a training camp in Andalusia with former national players.

But the final in the Erdinger Meister-Cup against the women of FC Ingolstadt was something very special for the Mooser girls.

"We got a complete celebration for the whole team as second," says Ermair, who will miss the good time with his team.

Together with Alexander Kürzinger, who was always with the SGEE as a goalkeeper coach, the two women football veterans then acted in the game community, which had merged for personal reasons.

"We found each other perfectly and we immediately felt like a real community," says Hillebrand, who was promoted to the district league with the team in the debut season, where the women went on the hunt for goals until the very end.

(By the way: everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.)

But the corona pandemic made the situation for the SGEE increasingly difficult.

"Our main sources of contact for players, the airport and the university, have almost completely disappeared," explains Ermair.

As a result, the workforce has become increasingly thin over the past two years.

Despite this, the syndicate has struggled throughout the season, with many ex-footballers also making comebacks at times.

Corona has made everything more complicated

But after this season it's over - it's just not enough for a competitive squad anymore.

However, one thing is clear: "The friendships will also remain off the football field," says Hillebrand.

And for many of the girls, retiring from the game does not mean the end of their career either: They will be accommodated by two other clubs in the district and remain true to their sport.

At the end of the season, the team said goodbye with a big final party in Eittingermoos.

However, the SGEE was not granted the worthy framework in the form of a last point game: The opponent on the last district league match day, TSV Rohrbach, had to cancel at short notice.

The reason: Corona again.

But that didn't cloud the mood, as the week before they had been able to take a win at SpVgg Wolfsbuch/Zell and thus say goodbye to the district league with dignity.

Nevertheless, the two coaches look back with a laughing and a crying eye.

"It was just a great time," says Ermair, who will meet up with the team again in the summer for the traditional football golf excursion.

Together with his colleagues on the sidelines, he will certainly follow one or the other game of the former SGEE girls in the future.
