Until the 1950s, the peloton scrupulously followed the contours of the country without ever going inland. It was the time of the "chemi

Even in its worst nightmare, the peloton which will leave Denmark this Friday July 1 would not dare to imagine such torture.

Yet this is what awaits the heroes of the Grande Boucle on July 26, 1906. Sixty at the launch of the 4th edition, they are already only fourteen survivors when they set off for this penultimate stage.

The ordeal will end three days later with a final link of 259 km between Caen and the Parc des Princes in Paris.
