Maccabi Tel Aviv continues the revolution in its staff, and this time it announced the signing of center Zalgiris Kaunas last season - Josh Nibu.
The player, who will celebrate his 25th birthday in July, has signed for two years at the club and will earn about $ 700,000 per season.
Nibo is no stranger to the Premier League, as in the 2020/21 season he starred in the Hapoel Eilat uniform and was one of the most prominent players in the league.
Together with Alex Poiters, the first signing of the Yellows this summer, the two will fill the position of chin in the renewed team of Oded Katash.
Last summer Nibo made the leap and reached the Euroleague for the first time when he signed for the Lithuanian team.
Although the Greens shuffled to the bottom of the factory last season, Nivo excelled and averaged 8.8 points and 6.2 rebounds in 28 games.
Zalgiris won the Lithuanian Cup, but in the domestic league it was a disappointment and was eliminated by Lightkablis in the playoff semi-finals after a 3: 1 loss in the series.
"I am excited to return to Israel and join Maccabi's special tradition," Josh Nibo told the club's official website after the signing.
"I will bring my investment and toughness to Tel Aviv. Let's win."
"Josh Nibo is a great athlete and an excellent rebounder," noted coach Oded Katash. A player who improves from year to year and is on the way up. "

Nibo (24, 2.06) has been a graduate of the University of Texas A&M since 2020. He began his professional career in Israel in the Hapoel Eilat uniform.
In the media he recorded 13.9 points and 9.9 rebounds per game but did not finish the season with the team after leaving in the Operation Wall Guard.
In the summer of 2021 he signed for Zalgiris Kaunas and became one of the surprising players of the season.

Meanwhile, Maccabi Tel Aviv is waiting for a final answer from TJ Leaf to the offer that was submitted to him last weekend.
The citizen who played last season in China is waiting for the opening of the free agent market in the United States, to see if his agents can find him a contract with one of the league teams, and at the same time teams in the Chinese league have expressed interest with higher financial offers than the Yellows can offer an Israeli player.
If Leaf delays too much in his decision, or alternatively informs Maccabi that he rejects the offer, Maccabi will leave Jake Cohen, who holds a contract for next season.
The assistant coach’s cut is also far from closed.
The team is waiting for the answer from Ryan Fanon, the former assistant coach of Hapoel Jerusalem, whose candidacy we published here for the first time last week.
The coach who coached last season in the NBA Development League may get a job in the best league in the world, which will prevent him from joining Maccabi, but if that doesn't help, he may be Oded Katash's assistant.
