For the second time in a week, the police raided the hotel where the Bahrain-Victorian team was staying.

Just before the opening of the Tour de France in Copenhagen today (Friday), the Bahrain-Victorian team, which won three sections of the race last year, underwent a second police raid within a week.

Bahrain-Victorius confirmed that the team's hotel was searched by Danish police at 5:30 a.m. local time "at the request of French prosecutors".

This comes just days after police raided the homes of some of the riders and crew before heading out to Denmark for the start of the column.

The raids are reportedly linked to a preliminary investigation launched by French prosecutors in the Tour de France last year into drug charges against the group.

A statement from Bahrain Victorius said: "The police searched all the team vehicles, crews and riders' rooms. The team fully cooperated with all police requests, and the search ended within two hours. No crew items were seized. Following the police search, the team now expects to focus on the big bike race And the best in the world, the Tour de France. "

Earlier this week, Bahrain Victorius issued an unequivocal statement, claiming that the timing of the investigation "was intended to intentionally damage the staff's reputation".

The Marseille prosecutor's office said at the time that the investigation was into "the purchase, transport, possession, importation of a prohibited substance or a prohibited method for use by an athlete without medical justification".
