After the split with FC Neufahrn, Willi Kalichman has a new coaching position.

The 52-year-old will coach FC Eichenau in the future.

Neufahrn

– Willi Kalichman was an institution on the bench in Freising and the surrounding area.

The 52-year-old is now venturing into new shores – and will train the district league team FC Eichenau in the Fürstenfeldbruck district in the new season.

After the amicable separation with FC Neufahrn in winter, Kalichman was looking for a change of scenery: "The break did me good.

I met old acquaintances, watched different games on the weekends and did some research.” This ultimately paid off when he was placed with FC Eichenau in the Zugspitze region.

“Then I watched a game and was thrilled.

The special appeal was going to a new district,” says Kalichman.

Kalichman convinced of the infrastructure and philosophy of FC Eichenau

The FCE has had a success story in recent years, has marched through from the A-class to the district league and held the class there.

Coach Kalichman was convinced by the team spirit and the conditions in the club: "The facility is absolutely top.

There is an artificial turf, a running course and a great stadium.”

Another plus is the club philosophy.

Even in Neufahrn, the focus on youth was important to Kalichman.

His new club sees it that way too.

"They're very professional here and rely on their own offspring." Together with his long-time assistant coach Christian Trasberger, the coach would like to achieve a lot again.

"The team has the potential to play at the top.

But it will very much depend on how we start the season.”

Because the mode in the Zugspitze game district is a special one this year.

The district leagues are divided into groups of eight, with the top five teams in each subgroup qualifying for a promotion round, the others playing against relegation.

Kalichman would like to be up there: “I'm always ambitious.

If everything fits, then it's doable to get into the promotion round.
