Israel's lacrosse team tonight (Thursday-Friday) successfully opened their participation in the World Women's Championships held in the United States, with a smooth 6:18 victory over Korea.
The first quarter was still close and ended with a tiny advantage for the Blues-Whites of 3: 4, but then in the second quarter Israel started to press the gas and increase the gap and went down to half with 4:11, when they did not let the opponent return to the game and managed to get the first victory.
The standouts in the game were Lindsay McCone, who scored four goals, and Eli Steinberg Bernard, who added three of her own, just as Zoe Martin scored.
Tonight, Israel will continue its participation in the championship when it meets Norway, when on Sunday it will play against Puerto Rico, and will lock the home stage in Tuesday's meeting against the Netherlands.
In the last championship in 2017 in England, Israel finished in sixth place and before that in 2013 it was ranked eighth.
The Women's World Championship is also a preparation for Israel for the World Games (the Olympics for disciplines that are not part of the Olympic program), where the Israeli men's team will also take part.
