After announcing the signing of defender Pierre Corno earlier today (Friday), Maccabi Haifa announced that the 27-year-old striker Franzi Piero landed in Israel early in the morning, underwent medical tests and signed with the team for three years with an option for another season.
In the last three seasons he has played for Gangan from the Second French League, where he has made 78 appearances, scored 28 goals and netted six more.
Piero has 22 appearances for the Haitian national team, in which he has scored 14 goals.
After the signing he said: "I am happy to sign for a big club like Maccabi Haifa with great ambitions. I am very excited to open a new chapter in my life, with these wonderful fans and this amazing stadium. I am already waiting to get on the grass."
