Eric Naulleau:

The Tour de France was the great affair of my childhood.

As a kid, I came to attend a stage with my grandfather in the Basque Country where I lived.

We had done it in the rules with a picnic by the side of the road while waiting for the peloton to pass.

I well remember the caravan throwing advertising caps and packets of cycling magazines in blister packs.

I can assure you that the kid who gets a video game console today is no happier than the kid who grabbed those little goodies by the side of the road.

I keep a very vivid memory associated with the grandparents.

Inevitably, these moments mark... Later, I had reconstituted a circuit with metal cyclists and I redid the stages in my sauce with dice to advance my riders.

This occupied me for entire afternoons.

In a society where there were fewer distractions…
