Recognizable by his white hair, his almond-shaped eyes and his permanent smile, Jean-Marc "Marco" Foyot, 69, is a legend in the world of petanque.

Since the early 1970s, the native of Meaux (Seine-et-Marne) has always remained at the highest level, but he is still missing a little something: a 7th victory at the Mondial de La Marseillaise - the biggest competition in the planet (13,000 registered), whose 60th edition begins this Sunday – which would allow him to equal the record after which he has been chasing for twenty years!
