Painters were present at the Saint-Cloud racecourse (Hauts-de-Seine) on the occasion of the traditional competition, with the theme “Restoring the atmosphere of the race day at the racecourse”.
They weren't the only talents at Val d'Or, as the public witnessed a flash of class from Alpinista in the highlight of the meeting, the Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud (Gr. I), yesterday.
Trained in Newmarket (England), Sir Mark Prescott's mare stole the show from the big favorite and three-time Group I winner, Hurricane Lane, who, after galloping thickly, gave way on the straight and had to settle for the eighth place.
This globetrotter, who ran on eleven different tracks, made her debut at Saint-Cloud.
Absent from competition since winning a Group I in Germany in November,
she established herself as a champion, signing a sixth victory in a row, a fourth at the highest level.
Her jockey, Luke Morris, was full of praise for Frankel's daughter: "She took quite a while to get back to her best, which is why she didn't race in the Coronation Cup at Epsom (England) which took place on June 3.
She's only just starting to get on top.
I hope that this race will be profitable for him for the future.

The Arc de Triomphe as a goal
Last August, Alpinista had beaten, in Berlin (Germany), Torquator Tasso, winner of the Qatar Prix l'Arc de Triomphe 2021 (Gr. I).
She will also have this prestigious event scheduled for this fall as her focus.
"The King George (Gr. I) on July 23 at Newmarket (England) could come too early in his program so his main objective for the year will be the Qatar Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe, confirms the 33-year-old English driver .
She may do her preparatory race in the Prix Vermeille (September 11).

Arriving third, behind Baratti, Bubble Gift behaved remarkably for his return to Group I. After waiting, he made an excellent end of race, leaving a very good impression on his jockey Cristian Demuro: "He made a superb performance knowing that he did not have his land.
