Speculations about Cristiano Ronaldo leaving Premier League club Manchester United continue.
According to consistent reports from British media on Saturday, the 37-year-old striker is said to have asked the club to let him change if they made a reasonable offer.
The reason for this is that the multiple world footballer is not playing in the Champions League for the first time after 19 seasons in a row, wrote the “Daily Mail”, “The Athletic” and the TV broadcaster Sky Sports on their websites.
Manchester United, sixth in the English championship, had only qualified for the Europa League.
Ronaldo surprisingly returned from Juventus Turin to Manchester United last summer, where he had already played from 2003 to 2009.
He scored 24 goals in 38 competitive games.
At the beginning of June, Ronaldo commented on the Red Devils website: “I am still motivated to work hard and love the passion for the game.
And of course Manchester and my teammates always help me.
I really appreciate that.«
Recently there had been rumors that the German record champions FC Bayern Munich should be interested in the goalscorer.
Bayern sports director Hasan Salihamidžić denied the reports on Sky: "Cristiano Ronaldo is a top player with an outstanding career.
However, the rumor that is circulating is a rumor with no truth,” said Salihamidžić.
The FC Chelsea from the German coach Thomas Tuchel is said to be interested in a commitment after the change of ownership.
The new Chelsea boss Todd Boehly is said to have met with Ronaldo's advisor Jorge Mendes in Portugal, according to »The Athletic«.
