Hasan Salihamidzic's professional career ended ten years ago.

A former teammate now told details of their times together in Wolfsburg.

Munich – Hasan Salihamidzic has been in charge of FC Bayern for five years. The Bosnian first worked as a sports director before he rose to the record champions' sports director in the summer of 2020.

Salihamidzic was also always reliable as a player and remained loyal to Bayern for a total of nine years, after four years at Juventus Turin he ended his career at VfL Wolfsburg.

There he also played with the young Maxi Arnold, who now enjoys legendary status at the VW club.

Arnold now spoke about his former roommate Salihamidzic.

Ex-player remembers: Hasan Salihamidzic made television announcements in the hotel room

The 2011/12 season was Salihamidzic's last active season. The 45-year-old played 16 competitive games for VfL Wolfsburg under his former Bayern coach Felix Magath.

In that season, the then 17-year-old Wolfsburg talent Maximilian Arnold was introduced to the professional squad.

During Brazzo's only season with Wolves, the 35-year-old veteran and the youngster shared a hotel room.

In winter 2012, Arnold completed his first training camp under Felix Magath, in Dubai the Lower Saxony sweated for the second half of the season.

"I was in a room with Hasan Salihamidzic, which wasn't easy," said the 28-year-old.

“Brazzo told me what was on TV, which was golf and American football.

I lay in my bed and learned for the driving school,” remembers the three-time German international.

Maxi Arnold on former Wolfsburg roommate Brazzo: "They plundered the minibar"

But not everything was bad, says Arnold.

"After all, we always plundered the minibar and Brazzo took over the bill," he says.

Salihamidzic obviously knew how to score points with the team's youngster.

Arnold has been training under his new head coach Niko Kovac since this summer, whom Salihamidzic once installed at Bayern Munich.

"The trainer is very straight, there are clear announcements and speeches," summarized the Wolfsburg professional the first impressions.

“The days of endlessly marching in training are over anyway.

That was something else with Felix Magath ten years ago, I was 'game over' after the preparations,” says the native of Saxony.

During the time he was with Hasan Salihamidzic, he said he "needed vitamin injections to get going again" due to the hard training.

On the second day of the Bundesliga match, Brazzo's Bayern Munich guests will be in Wolfsburg's VW Arena, and then the two roommates will meet again, albeit only after the game.
