The whole Sunday morning in Dorfen town center was sporty: In glorious summer weather, the 19th Dorfen town run was started in all age groups.

Dorfen – The proven organizers – the town of Dorfen and the Förderkreis Dorfen – were delighted with a total of 631 participants, which was 30 more than in 2021. The athletes praised the very good organization and the “beautiful running course”.

Benjamin Luber (Trisport Erding) and Hannah Sassnink (LC Aichach) became city champions with top times.

The numerous spectators in the start/finish area at the Unterer Markt near Jakobmayer watched a total of seven exciting runs with participants in the age group from four to 80 years.

The races were commented live by triathlete and track and field athlete Werner Schüler, who stood in for Gerd Hänsel, who was ill at short notice.

At 9 a.m. sharp, Mayor Heinz Grundner started the first race with the 19th city run.

The runners were then sent off to the dramatic opening tune of AC/DC's Hells Bells.

At first the temperatures were still pleasant, but later it got hot.

Well secured and signposted, a short stretch was run through the city center and then west into the Isenauen to Breitwies at the turn, because the running route there and back was exactly five kilometers long.

In the 10-kilometer city run, the distance had to be run twice.

Luber took part in the Dorfener Stadtlauf for the first time and clinched victory with a very good time (35:44.5 minutes).

He was able to break away from his two pursuers after 4.8 kilometers and "then pulled through to the finish".

The Erdinger found the route “great, very entertaining.

Henri Neugebauer (36:35.8), second in the previous year, followed at a slight distance.

The Sassnink family from LC Aichach was also strong.

While Michael Sassnink (36:53.3) was third, Hannah Sassnik won the 2022 city championship with the women with a clear best time (41:19.4). watch after".

Second place went to Claudia Sommer from the Sparkasse Erding-Dorfen team (42:20.6), and like in 2021, Kerstin Weitl (48.32.1) from Gymnasium Dorfen finished third.

104 participants took part in the hobby run over five kilometers this year.

Eleven walkers and several wheelchair user teams from the Algasing residential and nursing home were also in the field.

The fastest in the hobby run was Christian Moser (19:04.35) from SC Haag ahead of Daniel Knott (19:47.88, Trisport Isartal) and Alexander Ronge (20:27.29) from Skiclub Dorfen.

In the women's race, Heike Würfl (22:09.79) from SV Schwindegg finished well ahead of the competition.

Second was Petra Fischer (22:55.42) from TSV Velden, followed by Anita Schweiger (22:55.50) from LG Gendorf Wacker.

Mayor Heinz Grundner was happy about such a large number of participants.

This shows that the Dorfen city run is something special.

He thanked everyone who contributed to the success.

The chairman of the support group, Stefan Tremmel, was also happy about the many runners and spoke of a “great event”.

He emphasized that without the generous support of local sponsors there could be no city run.

The team led by head of the city run organization, Martin Heilmeier, ensured that everything ran smoothly.

He was again able to rely on the proven help of many helpers from the Wasentegernbach Ski Club, TSV Dorfen Athletics and City Councilor Martin Greimel for timing and IT.
