Serbian Novak Djokovic qualified for the quarter-finals of the Wimbledon Championships in London, the third major tournament held on grass courts.
The Serbian defending champion qualified after defeating the Dutch 25-year-old Tim van Reethoven in three sets 6-2, 4-6, 6-1, 6-2 in two hours and 38 minutes.
With this victory, Djokovic reached the 25th consecutive victory in the London Championship, as he seeks to defend his title, which he won last year, as well as to catch up with American Pete Sampras, who holds 7 titles in the championship, jointly with his compatriot Serena Williams, while the record belongs to the Swiss Roger Federer with 8 titles.
The 104th seed Ritethoven became the surprise of the grass season this year when he beat Russian top seed Daniil Medvedev in the Lipima final to win the title before Wimbledon, all from his first appearance at both tournaments.
The Serbian will meet in the quarter-finals the young Italian Yannick Sener, 20, who managed to defeat the Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz in three sets to one earlier.
