Jesus goes to Arsenal because Haaland came to City

As expected, the English first division football team FC Arsenal has signed the Brazilian national striker Gabriel Jesus.

The 25-year-old moves from champions Manchester City to London, where, according to the club, he has a “long-term contract”.

According to media reports, the transfer fee is around 52 million euros.

Jesus has scored 95 goals in 236 competitive games for City, but is no longer in team manager Pep Guardiola's team due to the signing of Erling Haaland (Borussia Dortmund).

He has played 56 times for the Brazilian national team (19 goals).

Goalkeeper Rúnarsdóttir stays with FC Bayern

FC Bayern Munich are making long-term plans with Iceland goalkeeper Cecilía Rán Rúnarsdóttir.

The 18-year-old has been in the Bayern squad as a loan player for the past six months and has now signed a contract until 2026.

She is moving from Everton to Munich.

Sporting director Bianca Rech sees her as one of the “greatest goalkeeper talents in the world”.

Rúnarsdóttir has made one appearance for Bayern in the Bundesliga and one in the DFB Cup.

In the runners-up, regular and national goalkeeper Laura Benkarth, 29, has been out for months due to a cruciate ligament tear, she was last mostly replaced by Janina Leitzig.

The 23-year-old showed fluctuating performances.

It is still unclear what the goalkeeping hierarchy will look like under new coach Alexander Straus.

Eindhoven's Doan before moving to SC Freiburg

According to media reports from the Netherlands, Ritsu Doan is about to return to the Bundesliga.

As reported by »Eindhovens Dagblad« and »Voetball International«, SC Freiburg will sign the 24-year-old winger from PSV Eindhoven.

As »VI« added on Monday, the Japanese travels to the sports club for a medical check at the beginning of the week.

The 26-time national player was loaned to Arminia Bielefeld in the 2020/21 season, for which he was directly involved in eight goals in 35 games.

According to the reports, a "considerable" transfer fee of at least 8 to 9 million euros will be due for Doan, who is contractually bound until 2024.

So far, the people of Breisgau have only paid more for the transfer of Baptiste Santamaria, 27, in their club history – up to 15 million euros have been rumored.
