The boxing night in the Stadtwerke Erding Arena was a complete success.

Erding – The boxing night in the Stadtwerke Erding Arena was a complete success.

Around 1500 fans were enthusiastic about the fights and especially celebrated local hero Simon Zachenhuber, who landed a convincing victory on points in the last fight of the evening.

On the other hand, Tatjana Obermeier from Erding, who narrowly lost her fight, was sad.

Punctually with the opening of the boxing night in the ice rink, Tatjana Obermeier entered the ring at 5 p.m. for her presti-fight against the Hungarian Zsanett Szegfi in the bantam class up to 53.5 kilos.

It was the only kickboxing match of the night.

The girl from Erding started strong, but as the fight went on you could tell she was nervous at her home game.

In the fifth and last round, she also received a warning from referee Johannes Wolf for holding and could not do anything in the end.

The decision was close.

One referee saw the Erdingerin in front, one the Hungarian.

the third had the same number of points for both on the list - with an advantage for Szegfi, who then finally won with 2:1 judges' votes.

"Tati started great, the first two laps were awesome, she was really strong there," analyzed Obermeier's trainer Peter Lutzny.

"Then she suddenly showed nerves, in front of her own audience, it was like pulling a stopper.

Then it was just a battle.” Lutzny praised the fairness of the judges.

"You normally have a home advantage, but here it was totally fair." Multiple kickboxing world champion Julia Irmen from Deggendorf was also at the ring.

"It was clearly nerves with Tati," she said.

Tatjana Obermeier was still in good spirits at the official weigh-in.

After nine more fights (see below), the main fight was on the agenda.

There were now around 1,500 spectators in the ice rink, including Mayor Max Gotz, a player in the Erding Gladiators, former lion professional Albert Gröber, Erdinger professional boxer Uwel Hernandez and boxing legend Axel Schulz, who was there as a co-commentator for television.

Many visitors came directly from the old town festival and enjoyed the extraordinary event.

"You can see that our ice rink is also very suitable for other events," said Erding's mayor with satisfaction.

Shortly before midnight, ring announcer Ronny Leber finally called Simon Zachenhuber and his opponent, the French Mbemba Miesi (middleweight up to 72.5 kilos), into the ring, to the loud cheering of the audience, above all the Zachenhuber Ultras.

The local hero left no doubt about his dominance from the start.

From the fifth lap he increased the pace, but Miesi behaved very skilfully.

It soon became clear why the Frenchman had never been knocked out in his career.

He withstood the attacks until the end.

At the end of the ten rounds there was a clear 3:0 referee verdict (100:90, 99:91, 99:91) for Erdinger, but the Frenchman had gained respect.

Zachenhuber said afterwards that he was "overwhelmed by the atmosphere" and was pleased that he had met so many people.

which he had not seen for a long time and thanked all viewers.

After OB Gotz presented the winner with the belt of the International German Champion, Zachenhuber jumped out of the ring and ran to a father who has been severely disabled for over 20 years after a serious accident and is in a wheelchair.

The 24-year-old hugged him and put the belt he had just won on his shoulders.

"It means a lot to me that he's here," said Zachenhuber.

Then the overjoyed local hero went straight to the television interview with Axel Schulz.

He had actually predicted a knockout, confirmed another positive development for Erdinger and then praised the Frenchman's incredible ability to take things, which Zachenhuber also confirmed.

"I really don't have low clout, but that was amazing."

At 1 a.m., a long Erdinger boxing night was over for the spectators, which became even longer for Simon Zachenhuber.

He celebrated with fans, friends and family and said, laughing, on the phone call to the local newspaper on Sunday afternoon: "I haven't slept a second."
