Krestic breaks silence: "I was not wrong about the Oscar, all of Europe is talking about it"
The coach who brought the talent to the seniors speaks for the first time since leaving Maccabi Tel Aviv: "I felt that against Maccabi Haifa is the right moment for Gluch. What he did in three months shows what he is made of. I am proud that my team and I located his abilities. Farewell to me? Political decisions "

Summary: The Israel - England youth team 3: 1 (Sports 1)
Oscar Gluch soon became a household name throughout Europe.
The 18-year-old midfielder of Maccabi Tel Aviv and the youth team has finished the Euro tournament in Slovakia, with many clubs already showing a lot of interest in it and expected to submit far-reaching offers to the Yellows soon in order to acquire him.
Gluch owes much of what he has been going through in recent months to Mladen Krestic.
The Serbian coach, who left Maccabi Tel Aviv, was not afraid to give the young talent a big stage and even surprised everyone when he gave him the team shirt in a game of enormous importance - against the champion Maccabi Haifa.
Today, for the first time since receiving the announcement of the end of his career at the club, and being deeply disappointed as a result, Krestajic agreed to speak, with the emphasis on Gluch, whom he so much enjoyed watching at the European Under-19 Championships.

"I was not surprised by Oscar's performances in Slovakia," Krestic said in his opening remarks.
"I knew Oscar would prove his ability at the highest level there is, and he did. Today everyone in Europe is talking about him. I can say he is a great kid and looking forward to a glorious career. He has a rosy future ahead of him and I wish him all the best in the world."
When did you know you had such a diamond in your hand?
"My team and I followed Oscar from the moment we arrived at Maccabi Tel Aviv. He was on my radar like the other young players that Maccabi has under contract."
Then came the game against Maccabi Haifa.
Where did you have the confidence to throw him into the water in Bloomfield full on an evening like this?
"Before the game against Maccabi Haifa, I felt it was the right moment for him. I had a lot of similar link players on the roster, but I wanted someone who was unpredictable, with good ideas and key dedication. The team and I saw all this at the Oscars. I had no doubt about my decision. I knew I had players in the team with great character and I was convinced that they would know how to accept him and support him, especially when it comes to such a young player who needs it. I'm glad I was wrong about him, he's just getting started, but what "That he did in the playoffs in Israel and immediately afterwards in the European Championships, and all in just three months, shows what this guy is made of."

You still haven't talked about Maccabi Tel Aviv's decision to end the road with you.
Maybe it's time to say a few words about it.
"I do not want to talk about political or other decisions made at Maccabi Tel Aviv, because I am not there anymore. I just know that if we, my team and I, continued at Maccabi, we would know what to do with Oscar. I will add again that my team and I are very proud, because "We quickly identified his qualities and proved in Maccabi Tel Aviv and in Israeli football that there is no difference between a veteran player and a young player. Everything is measured by the quality and ability you have or do not have."
