The performance of Jarl Martin, the candidate for Maccabi Tel Aviv (from YouTube)

Maccabi Tel Aviv is in talks with the addition of American forward center Jarl Martin, who has played in the Australian league for the past two years in the Sydney Kings uniform.

If Martin joins the squad he will close the foreign squad for the upcoming season and join the front line to Alex Poiters, Josh Nibo, Roman Sorkin and most likely Jake Cohen, who is due to stay for the time being after Tetty J. Leaf did not respond to the team's latest offer .

Martin (28, 2.08) a graduate of LSU University from 2015 was selected 25th in the draft by Memphis and played for three seasons in the Grizzlies uniform while also being sent to the Development League during the period.

His best season was the 2017/18 season, when he played 73 games in the NBA, 36 of them in the top five and recorded 7.7 points and 4.4 rebounds per game.

In the 2018/19 season he was traded to Orlando but played little, and the following season played very little in the Development League.

In December 2020 he joined Sydney Kings from the Australian League, where he also played this season, recording 16 points and 7 points this season.

Two Israelis also joined the seven - Guy Pnini and Rafi Manko.

The club are also expected to make a decision on the continuation of John Dibertolomao's path at the club and decide on Max Heidegger's return from the loan.
