Those responsible at FC Bayern have apparently struck gold in France in their search for a successor to Robert Lewandowski.

Munich – Gradually FC Bayern seems to have come to terms with the departure of Robert Lewandowski this summer, currently it is about a reasonable transfer fee for the striker who wants to join FC Barcelona.

The income will probably be invested in a successor, in addition to the all-rounder Sadio Mané, there should also be a center forward.

After Bayern recently refrained from signing Sasa Kalajdzic, a new name is apparently already circulating on Säbener Straße.

Striker search at FC Bayern: will Lille clipper Jonathan David be the Lewandowski replacement?

22-year-old Jonathan David has been known to European football fans at least since his first season as a goalscorer in Belgium's top division.

In January 2018, KAA Gent signed the striker on a free transfer from Ottawa ISC in Canada, and David quickly adapted to the new league.

In two years, the attacker appeared in 87 competitive games, netting 37 times and assisting 15 more goals.

He also gained his first international experience in the Europa League.

After two years in Belgium, David moved to Lille, an hour away, in the summer of 2020 for a whopping 27 million euros.

In his first season with the French first division club OSC, he celebrated his greatest success to date when his team won the championship ahead of Paris Saint-Germain.

He contributed 13 goals and three assists, and last season he even managed 15 successes.

FC Bayern star could become a decisive advantage in poker with Jonathan David

FC Bayern would probably be the next logical step for David's development.

In Ghent and in his first season in Lille he showed himself in the Europa League, last season he even netted three times in the group stage of the Champions League before his team lost to Chelsea in the round of 16.

Although David is still contractually bound to Lille until 2025, the club and the player should be willing to talk if the offers are correspondingly high.

, among other things , the 1.80 meter man is a real option for those responsible for Bayern.

However, David is certainly no stranger, his nose for goals, his age and his consistency attracts many top clubs.

FC Bayern could certainly gain an advantage with a special player in their ranks.

Because left-back Alphonso Davies, who has been playing in Munich since January 2019, is David's national team-mate.

With the Canadian selection, both recently qualified for this year's World Cup, and the two have been on the field together 24 times.

The bond between the two youngsters could be the ace up their sleeve should Bayern now enter the transfer poker game.
