Tour de France: yellow jersey van Aert fined for "throwing waste outside the planned area"

The Tour de France pinned the yellow jersey Wout van Aert (Jumbo-Visma) on Sunday evening for throwing waste outside the planned area during the 3rd stage.

“throwing waste outside the area provided for this purpose”

If the Belgian rider were to repeat the offense during the next stages, the note could be much higher.

He could then be sanctioned with a one-minute penalty as stipulated in the UCI regulations in force since last season.

A third deviation would result in the definitive exclusion of the rider.
