Albion Vrenezi regrets Türkgücü intermezzo: "I never wanted to go there!"

Albion Vrenezi has arrived at TSV 1860 Munich.

Even as a child he wanted to play for the lions.

The change worked on the third attempt.

Windischgarsten – Michael Köllner has divided his nine summer additions into categories.

There are professionals who have a career plan and want to get themselves and the lions into the second division before they move on.

Köllner names the talent group around Fynn Lakenmacher and Meris Skenderovic.

And there are players for whom the cult club from Giesing is the goal of all dreams.

In addition to returnee Tim Rieder, Köllner explicitly named Albion Vrenezi, both 28 years old and both happy not to have to move after their Türkgücü interlude.

Vrenezi, who has only played for Bavarian clubs in his career (from Unterföhring to Regensburg), confirms the Köllner version of a grateful newcomer when asked.

There had been contact with the lions before, reports Vrenezi, but twice a change "just before" failed: in 2015, when he was still playing in Unterföhring (and finally went to Augsburg II) - and in 2017, when 1860 relegated and the then 23-year-old relegation winner Regensburg joined.

It finally worked out on the third attempt, and not only Vrenezi is happy about it, but also Köllner, who says: "With his way of playing, Albi has what it takes to be a crowd favorite."

Vrenezi is a dribbler with a move to the goal, someone who learned how to kick on the football field - and someone who is also looking forward to 1860 because he experienced the contrasting program at Türkgücü.

"To be honest: I never wanted to go there," admits the Kosovar who grew up in Sendling and describes how his adviser forced him to meet the Perlachers.

"He said, 'Don't you want to listen to this?

Although nothing came of the dream of big money, Vrenezi has long been able to laugh again.

She said: You always wanted to go to 1860 - now you are there.

Türkgücü was unfair to the players, but that's done – I'm just looking ahead.” To paraphrase Köllner: someone came to stay.
