England have continued to stir since reporting yesterday (Monday) on the arrest of a senior footballer from the Premier League and England squad, who is suspected of assaulting and raping a woman during an overseas holiday.
According to local media, he was interrogated for 15 hours and is still in custody, after the complainant presented investigators with pictures of bruises on her body, which she claimed were the results of the actor's violent assault.

According to the complainant, who has also remained anonymous so far, the footballer attacked her during a joint holiday abroad, and immediately after the attack she fled the resort where they were staying together and flew back to England.
The fact that this is a 29-year-old, senior player, who apparently plays for a London team, has already raised quite a few speculations on social media, but everyone is still waiting for his name to be revealed.
The footballer was arrested at three in the morning, when no less than six police vehicles arrived to carry out the arrest.
He was handcuffed to one of them and brought in for questioning.
A source close to the affair was quoted in the local media as saying: "The police must be allowed to do their thing. The player's friends are shocked by the accusations, it will be a painful blow to his club as well."
