We knew the base camp of the XV of France since last May, now we know more about the logistics of the Blues before the 2023 World Cup at home.

Just over a year from the World Cup which will take place in France from September 8 to October 23, 2023, the French Rugby Federation and the National League have jointly begun to draw the outlines of the organization around the competition and the preparation of the Blues.

Preparation of the Blues: two internships, four matches

42 players will be made available to Fabien Galthié from June 25 to August 28 to start preparation for the competition, which the Blues aim to win for the first time in history.

The French rugby players will take part in two courses, the first in Guyana (from June 25 to 30), and the second in Monaco in mid-July.

Four preparation matches will be on the program of the XV of France.

A double match against Scotland (August 5 and August 12), followed by a match against Fiji (August 19) and a final match against Australia (August 26).

After this last deadline, the group of players selected will be reduced to 33 for the competition.

The Blues will open the tournament in a legendary match at the Stade de France against New Zealand on September 8.

Top 14 amenities

The Top 14 final for next season is scheduled for June 17, 2023, a week before the first French rally and departure for Guyana.

The start of the 2023-2024 Top 14 regular season will also be impacted by the World Cup.

Interrupted during the entire competition, the French Championship will resume the day after the final.

Some players from the French selection will be absent during the first 3 days of Top 14. For the first 2 (August 19 and 26), between 9 and 14 players from the XV of France (out of the 42 selected) will be made available to their club , thus missing the scheduled friendlies against Fiji and Australia.

During the 3rd day (September 2), the 9 players permanently excluded from the France group will be able to find their club and compete in the championship.
