Türkgücü Munich will play in the regional league next season.

Coach Alper Kayabunar and defender Christoph Rech are looking forward to the start.

Munich – After weeks of unrest around Türkgücü Munich, it is finally clear: the third division relegated team can play in the Bavarian regional league next season.

There is a lot of relief in the Türkgücü camp, as coach Alper Kayabunar and player Christoph Rech confirm in unison.

Türkgücü Munich: No more negative headlines - "The mood is good"

"It was difficult with the negative headlines in the last few weeks and months," says the Türkgücü chief instructor.

“Of course, the players kept asking how things are now.

We tried to calm them down and focus on the sport," Kayabunar continued.

He had the fullest confidence in the club's management throughout.

The team found out about the deal with the Olympic Stadium on Tuesday morning, reports Christoph Rech. The defender is returning to his old place of work from SV Donaustauf.

"The stadium theme hung over the entire preparation," reports the ex-professional.

He is all the happier that everything is now settled.

"The mood in the team is good, you can feel a certain relief," says the 29-year-old.

Coach Kayabunar speaks of a "super harmony".

"It will be a difficult path": Türkgücü Munich is looking forward to the regional league restart

Some top-class players are now approaching the third division relegated team.

"It will be a difficult road," Rech is certain.

With teams like FC Bayern II, Würzburger Kickers or SpVgg Unterhaching, the regional league is very well staffed.

In addition, there was already some headwind from the competitors.

"Actually, I would really like not to play against Türkgücü twice in the new season," said Haching President Manfred Schwabl.

Coach Alper Kayabunar leaves such statements cold after ten years at Türkgücü.

"It shows that we are a special club," says the 36-year-old, adding: "We don't address it every day and call in a psychologist." Nevertheless, he is convinced that the club can draw some motivation from the criticism.

"Our trump card can be that many clubs don't like to see us in the regional league," agrees Christoph Rech.

Türkgücü Munich: Explosive duel at the start - "What Türkgücü has done in recent years..."

Players and coaches can prove that at the season opener on Saturday, July 16, at SV Heimstetten.

The hosts from the Munich suburbs have not made their stadium available again for Türkgücü home games and have also expressed criticism.

"What Türkgücü has done in the last two or three years is not what we imagine amateur sport to be," said SVH President Magnus Harlander.

An explosive duel awaits at the start.
