Nuri needed about three hours and 28 minutes to decide the outcome of the match in his favour, and narrowly beat Goffin in three sets for two sets, 5-7, 6-3, 7-5, 3-6, 2-6.
And Nouri will face in the next round of the third Grand Slam of the four major tournaments, the defending champion Novak Djokovic.
