The Syrian national athletics team topped the general rankings of the West Asian Championship for males and females, which concluded today in the Lebanese capital, Beirut.
Our team came first in the medals table, winning 9 gold, 7 silver and 5 bronze, ahead of Qatar, which came second with 8 gold, 6 silver and 5 bronze, while Iraq came third with 7 gold, 12 silver and 6 bronze.
The tournament was launched two days ago, and eight teams participated in it, in addition to Syria.
