“Although there could be an exception, we will not incorporate more players until we can activate the second lever”, stated President Laporta

One of the wishes that Andreas Christensen wrote on a piece of paper when he was eight years old was to one day be a Barça player.

The Danish international has fulfilled today, at the age of 26, that wish and has signed a contract until 2026 with a termination clause of 500 million.

"I don't have to change anything but improve because I understand that I fit very well into Barcelona's style of play," argued Christensen, from Chelsea, the club with which he has won the Champions League.

Like Kessié, presented on Wednesday, Christensen is a player who had the freedom letter, an essential condition for him to sign for Barça, blocked by his precarious economic situation as president Joan Laporta admitted.

"Although there could be some exceptions, we will not incorporate more players until we can activate the second lever," said the Barça president, referring to the sale of 10% of the television rights to Sixth Street.

Laporta specified in this regard that the club has made an offer for Lewandowski and awaits a response from Bayern Munich.

"We appreciate the player's words and his interest in coming," said the Barcelona president.

"The club has credibility again," he continued.

“We work to have positive own funds and we will invest to be more competitive.

Despite the economic situation inherited, we are very lucky that the majority of players are excited and want to come to Barça”.

The attractive Barça team defended by Laporta was ratified by Christensen and by the technical secretary Jordi Cruyff, who highlighted in a special way: "We have to form a compensated squad and create a stable and fair salary structure".

“If we manage to be in the market in good conditions and we choose well, we will fight for everything”, insisted Jordi Cruyff.

“There are footballers willing to make financial sacrifices to be able to play for Barcelona”

"Competition is healthy because it allows you to improve," Christensen insisted when asked about his aspirations and the list of Barcelona central defenders, which includes Piqué, among others, a player who aspires "to have a very good season," according to Laporta's explanation.

The Danish international replied that “I am healthy” when he was required by stomach pains that some information attributes to him as a symptom of pressure to justify his absence in a Chelsea match.

"I'm a quiet and reserved person," finished Christensen, a central defender who anticipates, has a very good ball output and is experienced in a league with a high pace like the Premier, according to Jordi Cruyff.

“He is here to be able to perform from day one,” he specified.

“You have to have different types of players.

We often talk about Barça's DNA and Cruyffism, but what makes you win games is balance.

We are looking for specific players with a strong character”, settled Jordi Cruyff.
