The General Assembly of the Handball Federation elected a new board of directors headed by Brigadier Ali Salibi, during the electoral conference that was held today at the headquarters of the General Sports Federation in Damascus and in the presence of the representative of the International Federation of the game.
Brigadier-General Salibi won the presidency of the Union by obtaining 13 votes, compared to 9 votes for the candidate Muhammad Ali Ghazi, while Muhannad Al-Harfi received one vote.
In a statement to SANA, the new president of the federation said, "We will start a new phase of work to develop the reality of the game through a specific strategy that focuses on young age groups in order to create a new generation that will be a strong alternative to the higher groups, pointing out that the electoral situation took place in a civilized atmosphere that reflects the positive desire to abide by all international laws." .
It is noteworthy that the union elected today will extend its work for the next three years.
