Ulsi Perry, one of the greatest players in Maccabi Tel Aviv in basketball, underwent surgery yesterday (Wednesday) to remove the leg below the knee.
According to the Yellows, "Ulsi is recovering from the operation at Sheba-Tel Hashomer Hospital and would like to thank everyone who demands his safety. His beloved partner and family are by his side and support him, while the owners of the Maccabi Tel Aviv basketball club are helping in any way they can."
Perry, who played for Maccabi Tel Aviv between 1976 and 1985 and won the European Championship twice with the team, was to transfer a training camp for young players at the Wingate Institute together with Greg Cornelius.
Those who have taken the place of the former star are some of his former teammates: Mickey Berkowitz, Moti Aroasti, Shmulik Zisman, Roni Busani, Doron Jamchi and Tal Brody.
