Tonight (Thursday), Noam Memo won the silver medal at the European Athletics Championships until the age of 18, which is held at the stadium in Givat Ram in Jerusalem, in the 800-meter dash, the first ever medal of Israel in this competition.
The 16-year-old Memo set a time of 1: 51.79 minutes, with only the Czech Jacob ahead of him with 1: 51.35 minutes.
The podium picture was completed by the Italian, de Rossa Davide with 1: 51.81 minutes.
As mentioned, this is Israel's first medal ever in the competition, in its third edition.

Memo was born and raised in Migdal Haemek to Ethiopian-born parents.
His parents are divorced and he lives with his mother and four brothers.
He attended the Forest Forest School.
At the age of 12, he began training with the Maccabi Achi Nazareth team under the guidance of Mark Blechman, who died of the Korna virus.
He is currently training under the guidance of Amir Ramon in the Hapoel Emek Hefer Hadassah youth team, at the Israeli championship held at the Hadar Yosef stadium in June last June, he has already started to show his potential, after finishing fourth in the 800 meters with a new man record of 1: 53.80 minutes.

He started the year with a new personal record of 1: 52.85 minutes, when in a competition held in May, he achieved the gold in the competition at Ordegam, when he set a new Israeli record for youth of 1: 50.83 minutes, when only a week ago at the 86th Israeli Championship, he won double gold in -400 and 800 meters.
