According to Marca in Spain, Nadal suffered a 7-millimeter tear in his abdominal muscles, but was determined to play in the semi-final against Nick Kirius on Friday until he realized it was probably an impossible task.
This is not the first time Sandal has injured his abdominal muscles during a tournament, the last time this happened was in 2009, when he went on to play against Juan Martin del Potro in the semi-finals and lost 6: 2, 6: 2, 6: 2.
The Spaniard held a short training session of only 33 minutes today with his friend and training opponent Mark López.
