The Landesliga men of the STC Oberland suffered their first defeat of the season against Fürstenzell.

On the other hand, the men 30 beat the Bayernliga leader Luitpoldpark Munich.

Wolfratshausen/Geretsried – The tennis men at STC Oberland had to accept their first defeat of the season last weekend: In the fifth state league match, they lost 4:5 at home against TC Blau-Weiss Fürstenzell.

"A bitter defeat," says Chris Hahn.

The guests appeared stronger than their place in the table suggested.

"They're still fighting to stay up in the league," reported the STC team spokesman.

Nicola Ghedin and Francesco Picco won their singles, as did Niklas Vonthein.

But Mattia Ghedin could not close the sack despite two set points in the first round, and Ferdinand Klösters and Yannick Maser also gave up their games.

In doubles only Picco/Mattia Ghedin got the points for the STC.

Nicola Ghedin/Klösters made it into the Champions tie-break, but lost, as did Vonthein/Maser.

"We were ahead overall with 89:80 points", Chris Hahn quarrels with the result, but didn't want to be angry with the people of Fürstenzell either: "We have a good relationship with them, especially since some of their players used to play for us." Again The Landesliga men have home advantage on Sunday, July 10th.

Then at 10 a.m. the TC Schwaben Augsburg will be guests at the Wolfratshauser facilities on Geltinger Straße.

The men 30 of the STC Oberland landed a coup.

"We annoyed the leaders of the table," Chris Hahn rejoiced after the 6:3 win over Grün-Weiss Luitpoldpark Munich.

Francesco Picco, Hahn (in the Champions tiebreak), Nikola Ghedin and Roberto Morelli made for a 4-2 lead after the singles;

Andreas Schneider and Sören Nassner had to give up their games.

The doubles also went 2-1 to the game community from Wolfratshausen and Geretsried.

Ghedin/Picco and Schneider/Morelli in the champion tie-break prevailed over their Munich opponents;

the Hahn/Nassner game was stopped after a hopeless deficit.

The next event takes the men 30 on Saturday, July 9, to the TC Übersee (1 p.m.).

The STC men 40 are on course for the title in the state league.

The team around top player Florian Dafertshofer won 6:3 against the closest pursuer TC Harlaching and thus remains at the top of the table without losing a point.
