Tatjana Maria made it to the semi-finals in Wimbledon, but then the hurdle Ons Jabeur was too high: The German lost her game against the Tunisian top favorite 2: 6, 6: 3, 1: 6, but she can still look forward to a great week and a half look back at the Grand Slam tournament.
In the first set, Maria gave up her serve early, Jabeur managed a second break, after 37 minutes the set clearly went to the second in the world rankings.
Both players had previously tried to put the opponent under pressure with numerous stop and backspin shots and sought their salvation in numerous net attacks.
But Maria rarely managed to do that successfully.
In the second set, the German started much better.
She won her first service game to zero and found her rhythm.
With the result that she made her first break with a 2-1 lead.
Maria pulled away to 4:1 and 5:2 and used her own serve to take the set home 6:3.
The third set has to be decisive and Jabeur had the better start.
After a quick 1-0 lead, she immediately managed to break and increased to 3-0 just as quickly, that was a preliminary decision.
Maria, who had shown so many comeback qualities in the tournament, couldn't find her way back into the game.
Jabeur's opponent in Sunday's final will be decided in the match between Elena Rybakina and Simona Halep.
