Jackie Groenen is a regular in the Dutch national team.
The midfielder from Manchester United was on the pitch for 90 minutes in the first group game of the European Championship against Sweden (1-1).
The day after, Groenen tested positive for the corona virus and is canceled for the time being.
This was announced by the Dutch Football Association.
If the 27-year-old remains symptom-free in the coming days and has a negative test result, she can be reinstated.
However, Groenen will very likely miss the second group game against Portugal next Wednesday.
In the game against Sweden, Oranje had to replace two important players with injuries, Sari van Veenendaal and Aniek Nouwen.
Groenen is now the fifth known positive corona test at this European Championship.
On Sunday, the Italian team announced that 31-year-old Valentina Cernoia will miss the opening game against France in the evening.
There had already been two cases of corona in the Austrian national team.
While Lisa Kolb was isolated before the opening game against England, Laura Wienroither, like Groenen, was on the pitch for 90 minutes and only tested positive afterwards.
On the English side, Charlotte Wubben-Moy is affected, she was on the bench against Austria.
