The commemoration and remembrance campaign of sports fields that disappeared in Tel Aviv, has in recent days aroused resentment among Hapoel Tel Aviv basketball fans.
The Tel Aviv Municipality commemorated in the Bezalel complex the mythical Maccabi field on which the stars of the team grew, with a sign explaining to the younger generation what happened in this place.
The sign in question,
Hapoel Tel Aviv fans were furious why a commemorative sign does not appear near the Ussishkin field, which has also been destroyed, and have already developed conspiracy theories that the municipality may not be interested in commemorating the field, which was demolished during the current mayor's term.
But "Israel Today" took up the gauntlet and turned to the Tel Aviv municipality to see if there would really be a sign on the banks of the Yarkon that would tell the story of the mythological hall.
"The Tel Aviv-Yafo Municipality considers the former sports fields important assets for commemoration in Israeli and Tel Aviv history."
In response, the Tel Aviv-Yafo Municipality stated: "Although no orderly request was received to commemorate Hapoel Ussishkin, the municipality will be happy to promote this issue to the group, similar to the sign model placed in the Bezalel market."
The people of Hapoel Tel Aviv are invited to do the minimum necessary so that even on the other side of the city, they will remember the red heritage.
