Summary: England - Norway 0: 8 (Women's Euro) (Sports 1)
History was recorded tonight (Monday) at the stadium in Brighton, when the English team defeated Norway 0: 8 in the second round of the European Women's Championship.
This is the first time in the European Championship, for men or women, that a team has scored eight goals in a game - even a sevens team has never conceded - and England has also become the first women's team ever to score six or more goals in one half of the Euros.
After England beat Austria 0: 2 in the opening game at Old Trafford, tonight they hosted Norway who easily beat Northern Ireland 1: 4.
The English, who are candidates to win the competition, did not feel sorry for the Scandinavians and for the break they also went down with a historic advantage of 0: 6 - Georgia Stanway ((12), Oren Hemp (15), Alan White (29 and 41) and Beth Mead ( 34 and 38) conquered and provided about 29,000 viewers in Brighton an experience they did not expect.
In the second half, Alicia Russo (66) joined the celebration, and a hat-trick completed in the 81st minute, thanks to unprecedented numbers of 18 goals and 11 assists in just 15 games since Serena Wichman was appointed coach last year.
