It was a very attractive Ile-de-France derby between Paris FC (L2), contender for the rise in L1, and Versailles, semi-finalist of the Coupe de France last season and promoted this year to National.
After a balanced first act where the formation of Yvelines was on par with its opponent, the PFC moved up a gear in the second act to offer itself this Tuesday a 4th victory in as many friendly matches.
The Versaillese, who returned to training two weeks after their neighbor in the Ile-de-France, hinted at a certain potential to play at the top of the table in the 3rd division.
Here are some lessons to be learned from this meeting.
Maxime Bernauer asserts himself
Arrived last season from Le Mans (Nat.), Maxime Bernauer had had an excellent season within a solid Parisian formation, 4th best defense in the championship.
Effective in the duels, the left side brought his strike force by scoring a magnificent goal following a long shot in the top corner of Rénot (54th).
The PFC demonstrates by actions that it has a very interesting offensive potential in all positions.
Paul Lasne the regulator
He is one of the star recruits of the Paris FC transfer window.
The defensive midfielder with nearly 300 games in L1 (AC Ajaccio, Montpellier, Brest) has shown his knowledge of play and placement.
He was recruited to be the middle boss.
His experience and serenity will be a real asset.
Paris FC concedes its first goal
After 3 clean sheets in as many friendlies, the capital club conceded their first goal following a strike from Diego Michel late in the game.
But this goal conceded does not detract from the defensive solidity of the PFC.
“It's even good to have taken this goal at the end because it will wake us up and sting a little, said coach Thierry Laurey at the end of the meeting.
The team does not like to concede a goal.
We lead 3-0, we have to finish at 3-0.

Versailles must find automatisms
Having resumed training for only 10 days, the Versaillese ran out of juice during the second act.
The lack of automation linked to the significant recruitment of the offseason with several L2 players (Grégoire Lefebvre, Emeric Dudouit, Romain Armand, Pierre Gibaud and Jordan Laborgne) also explains this offensive shyness.
But Youssef Chibhi's men can rely on their game and their solidity displayed in the first period which reminded us of the almost invincible team (3 defeats in 40 games in all competitions) last season.
