A great career in Serie A
Born in Négrar, a small town not far from Verona, Damiano Tommasi is a pure local product trained at Hellas Verona where he began his professional career there in 1993 alongside Gianluca Pessotto and Filippo Inzaghi.
He will play 77 matches with the Gialloblu in three seasons in Serie B, the second Italian division.
After a masterful last season in Verona in 1996, where Tommasi turned into a much more versatile defensive midfielder, able to move out of the zone and play the attack, he hit the AS Roma radar.
