The upturn will have been brief.
The day after the results, all negative, of a wave of tests carried out by the UCI, the BikeExchange-Jayco team announced, this Tuesday morning, the positive test for Covid-19 by Luke Durbridge.
The Australian, who has "very slight symptoms", will not start the 10th stage of the Tour de France.
He is the 4th rider to have to leave the Tour de France due to Covid-19 after Geoffrey Bouchard, Vegard Stake Laengen and Guillaume Martin.

The BikeExchange-Jayco team loses a good rider, even if he was not destined to win stages.
Australian Luke Durbridge was 90th overall, 52′22′ behind Tadej Pogacar's yellow jersey.

Following the cascade of abandonments recorded at the Tour de Suisse in mid-June, the anti-covid protocol was updated before the start of the Tour by the International Cycling Union (UCI).
The tests are compulsory before the start and during the two rest days of the event in Morzine and Carcassonne, riders and team personnel included.
In the event of a positive result, the protocol provides that “the decision on possible isolation will be taken collectively by the doctor of the team concerned, the Covid-19 doctor for the event and the medical director of the UCI”.
